Propeller Dance is hiring an Administration Manager, with a focus on finance, systems management and team/project management.

We are searching for a change-maker to join a small yet resourceful leadership team at Propeller Dance – a barrier-breaking and unique inclusive contemporary dance company and dance education organization with a mandate to celebrate diverse expressions in dance and art-making. The ideal candidate for this immersive role will have a minimum 5 years’ experience in Arts Administration including skills in:
Project and Event Management, Finance, Development and Communications, HR

  • The key aspects of this role will include, but are not limited to:
  • Oversee and lead the organization’s administrative day to day operations
  • Financial management: regular administration of payables and receivables, manage and track and operating budget, working with our external bookkeeping firm; project manage annual audit process
  • Track annual operations plan, ensuring administrative deadlines are met.
  • Data organization and management of Sharepoint files, Customer Relationship management system (CRM) and donor databases, statistics. Streamlining of systems and processes where needed
  • Support HR tasks such as contracts and agreements and policy work
  • Manage and oversee marketing and fundraising projects, such as annual report, branding, operating grants, donor campaigns
  • Coordinate and facilitate weekly staff meetings
  • Support coordination of Board of Directors’ meetings and AGM
  • Front of house event management and support volunteer management
  • Additional tasks and special projects, as mutually agreed upon

You will work directly with and report to the Artistic & Executive Co-Directors, and be part of a collaborative extended team.

This is a 35 hours a week role (negotiable), fixed-term of one year until summer 2023

Terms and Conditions:
The selected candidate will have the flexibility to work remotely, with some in person work required. Preference to candidates located in Ottawa but we would consider candidates from other locations. In-person office located at Great Canadian Theatre Company, Ottawa, Canada.

Salary: 
$47,000-$52,000 depending on experience, with basic extended health benefits
