THE ORGANIZATION
Showplace Performance Centre is a recently renovated 630 seat mainstage and 100 seat studio space in beautiful Peterborough, ON. Our team mission is to present, promote, and sustain the performing arts; encourage and support active community involvement; provide opportunities for local and touring artists to perform in a professional-quality venue; entertain, inspire, nurture, educate, and empower artists and audiences alike.
Showplace offers a multiple array of genres and performances from classic rock concerts to film festivals to cabaret performances.

THE POSITION
Reporting to the General Manager, the Production and Facility Manager will supervise and facilitate all technical activities in both spaces and will work with our robust list of local tradespeople to oversee and manage the building’s maintenance, security and general upkeep.

TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT

  • Work with Show Promoters to advance shows before arrival including estimating all costs for crew and extra technical requests.
  • When events are presented by our organization directly, manage production budgets.
  • Manage and schedule appropriate crew (filling in when needed) and oversee the client experience
  • Track and submit all timesheets for staff and other expenses for accurate invoicing of clients
  • Research and implement technical upgrades

FACILITY MANAGEMENT

  • Arrange for and oversee building repairs and general maintenance.
  • Work with General Manager and Board of Directors to plan strategic long term maintenance projects
  • Track building condition and report to General Manager any small, medium and large facility needs
  • Track technical theatre infrastructure and repair and maintain as needed

HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Update and maintain health and safety policies and make recommendations to reflect changes in legislation
  • Maintain records of all training
  • Onboard and document training of technical staff and volunteers who support the production side of shows at facility.

*Other duties may be incurred at times as the Showplace Team works in a supportive, collaborative environment.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience and/or post-secondary education in Technical Theatre/Live Performance
  • Proficient in use of Sound and Lighting consoles (if possible, please list in resume)
  • Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently while also working in a team environment
  • Computer proficient, especially in Google Workspace

ASSETS

  • Valid G Class Drivers Licence
  • Proficient in CAD drawing

Permanent, Full Time (40 hours per week)
