Canada History Week

Friday, July 1st, 2016 - 12:00am to Thursday, July 7th, 2016 - 12:00am

Once again this year, we are celebrating the Canada History Week, which will take place from July 1st to 7th, 2016. This initiative is an opportunity for Canadians to learn more about what has shaped our country as we know it today.

Whether you organize open doors, special exhibits, unarchived content on the Web, movies online, celebration or commemorative events, unveiling of objects, presentations of artworks, etc., your activities and events will contribute to the Week’s success.

2016 will mark the 100th anniversary of women’s first right to vote in Canada and that is why Canada History Week has chosen this theme for this year’s edition.

Between July 1st and July 7, we encourage you to use the hashtag #HistoryWeek2016 (#SemaineHistoire2016) to share activities and events on history in general, or on the history of Canadian women’s fight for the vote and great Canadian women who played an important role in history. You can also use the hashtag #RighttoVote (#DroitdeVote).

We thank you for your contribution to the 2016 Canada History Week and for helping Canadians to learn about their past.
