Digital marketing 101: What you need to know about websites

Whether it’s fancy and dynamic or nice and simple, your website is the core of all your online activities. Your website provides legitimacy, shares important information with your audience, and links all of the aspects of your online presence together.

On April 22nd almost 50 arts presenters from across Canada joined to participate in a second part of our webinar series on Digital Marketing for Arts Presenters. Led by Tierney Smith of TechSoup Canada, the webinar covered a number of relevant topics related to websites. Participants learned about the most important things that should be included on the website, effective use of content management systems to keep website easy to maintain, and how to draw people to the site and analyze its traffic.

Tips from Tierney

It is not about you! Make your website useful and relevant for your audience. Questions to keep in mind when building your webiste:

#1 Who will visit your website?

#2 What do your visitors want to do?

#3 How can you make their lives simple?

#4 What will get them to come back?
