Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, Ottawa Chamberfest brings together the boldest names in ensemble and solo performance for musical celebration in the nation’s capital through its concert series, CEE: Community Engagement and Education, and its summer festival. The world’s largest festival of its kind, Ottawa Chamberfest is a 2019 Festivals and Events (FEO) Ontario “Top 100” and winner of seven consecutive Lieutenant Governor’s Awards for the Arts.
Chamberfest seeks a dynamic part-time or contract Events Coordinator to support its fundraising and stewardship events.
Reporting to the Manager of Philanthropy, the successful applicant’s primary responsibility will be to coordinate Chamberfest Gala 2019 (September 18, 2019). This work will include coordinating all aspects of the silent and live auctions, tracking event attendance and seating/dietary requests, attending committee meetings, liaising with event sponsors, suppliers, auction donors, and volunteers, and working with various other Chamberfest departments including marketing and production. The successful applicant will also assist in coordinating the receptions that will take place during the 2019 Chamberfest summer festival (July 26 to August 8).
The successful applicant should expect to work irregular hours (evenings and weekends) during the summer festival and leading up to the Gala.
Required Skills and Qualities:
- Experience in event planning
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Comfortable working in a client relationship management (CRM) database
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingualism (English and French) an asset
- Ability to work independently
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in the arts or a related field
- At least 2 years’ related professional experience, including at least one year in event planning
Term: May 20 to September 30, 2019 (approximately 20 weeks at 3 days per week)
