Job Description: 

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the position will: 

  • Work closely with DUO clients using an equity and diversity lens to execute and implement deadline-driven social media, marketing, and communications activities for our diverse current and new clients. 
  • Write and create online content, including social media, blog, and web posts on behalf of clients writing in their specific voice. 
  • Creating and proofreading deadline-driven content for approval by the Executive Director. This includes; e-newsletters, press releases, etc. 
  • Working knowledge of increasing engagement online across multiple platforms for DUO and its clients
  • Supporting and executing the work of our clients using DUO’s Equity and Decolonial framework
  • Writing and proofreading deadline-driven content for approval by the Executive Director. This includes e-newsletters, press releases, etc. 
  • Managing and coordinating and updating DUO’s and clients’ websites.
  • A working knowledge of publicity campaigns and their implementation
  • Willingness to grow your professional skills through networking events and professional markets and conferences. 
  • Creating client websites using templates and updating these sites as required
  • Strategically growing clients’ profiles online to achieve their goals.
  • Provide research for client-specific events and activities that further project goals. 
  • Strong experience in creating critical and strategic marketing and social media plans. 
  • Work collaboratively with the DUO team and aid during critical or peak workload periods.
  • A working knowledge of data gathering and analysis to support DUO and its clients’ operational goals.
  • Attend events outside of regular work hours to solicit new clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute and implement deadline driven social media, marketing and communications activities for current and new clients.
  • Working with the Executive Director develop and create visualizations of data driven impacts.
  • Leads and coordinates the creation of DUO’s annual report.
  • Working with staff using client events and activities increases online engagement across our platforms. 
  • Focused on increasing all revenues in the department annually.
  • Ability to sell departmental skills to new and existing clients.
  • Create and implement an annual organizational marketing plan based on current trends in marketing and communications.
  • Develop and executive long term creative marketing and outreach strategies for the organization.
  • Revise and update DUO’s Marketing and Communications strategy annually.
  • Initiate consultations with potential clients to pitch DUO’s marketing, communications services. 
  • Write online content, including social media, blog and web posts on behalf of clients writing in their specific voice. 
  • Seek out and execute cross promotional partnerships for clients and DUO.
  • Manage and oversee the writing, production and distribution and communications including newsletters, and electronic communications for DUO and its clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: 
  • Experience working in a PC environment.
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite
  • Experience with Adobe Suite and Canva
  • Works onsite daily
  • Experience with SEO, Google Analytics, Salesforce and Hootsuite
  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple clients and deadlines.
  • A minimum of three years of social media marketing experience, which could be gained through internships or similar employment.
  • Strong writing, research and proof-reading skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and oral.
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve and prioritize. 
  • Working knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Professional personal presentation

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with experience in the non-profit arts sector. The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in arts management, communications, or equivalent business experience and 2+ years of progressively responsible experience in marketing and communications.

Salary: 
$43,000 – $50,000 commensurate with experience
Term: 

Full-time, Permanent

Additional Info: 

Benefits include: Health and Dental insurance, Group RRSP, flex time, paid sick time, paid holidays starting at two weeks increasing over time on a set schedule, December holiday closure of two weeks (approximately), overtime paid in lieu time.
