Ken Coulter wins the 2012-2013 CAPACOA Presenter of the Year Award

January 25, 2014 - CAPACOA announced the winners of the 2012-2013 CAPACOA Awards, recognizing excellence in the field of live performance touring and presenting, at its annual Awards Gala Dinner.

Special congratulations to our long-time member Ontario’s presenter, Ken Coulter, who received Presenter of the Year Award!

Ken Coulter’s dedication to presenting, audience development and delivery of the arts has extended far beyond his own community. His quest for excellence in presenting and his influence on the ongoing evolution of the field, is seen across the province, the country and even internationally. From his beginnings as a technician through to his recent retirement as a theatre manager at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts, Ken has shared his wisdom – as a manager, mentor, and advisor – with anyone who was willing to learn. Countless presenters, managers, marketers, performers and other professionals within the presenting industry have greatly benefitted from Ken’s intelligent insights and wise consultations.

Touring Agent of the Year Award went to Andrew Kwan, Andrew Kwan Artists Management (ON) and Touring Artist of the Year Award went to Tafelmusik, (ON). During the evening, the 2014 National Arts Centre Award for distinguished contribution to touring in the performing arts was also presented to Alain Paré, founder and Chief Executive Officer of CINARS.

In addition, the dates and location of the 2015 conference were announced: the 27th CAPACOA Conference will be held in Halifax, January 21-24, 2015.
