Generous funding provided by the Ontario Trillium Foundation will provide scholarships for 14 youth (16 to 29 years of age) from across Ontario to attend the SPARC Youth Summit covering the cost of travel, accommodation and meals.
We need your help in selecting 14 motivated and enthusiastic youth involved in the performing arts in their rural communities to attend this ground-breaking initiative.
In order to do this, we are asking that you recommend to us, no later than April 3rd young people that not only meet our criteria, but are also available and capable of attending SPARC. Please include complete contact information for recommended youth as well as your reasons for suggesting them. As funding is limited, this opportunity is available on a ‘first come first served’ basis.
The Youth Summit is an inclusive part of the Symposium. The purpose is to “take a pulse” of rural communities in which youth are involved in the performing arts as performers, creators, directors, technicians, presenters and producers. The Summit will provide an open forum for youth to exchange ideas, concerns, connect and network and look at ways to create new opportunities in the future. Youth Summit participants will serve as an integral part of creating and expanding a network of rural producers, presenters, creators in the year following the Summit and Symposium. Please send your recommendations to Rachel Gillooly by Thursday, April 3rd.
