Ontario Presents’ Blue Sky Day is a once-a-year gathering of members to come together to exchange valuable information on trends, issues, and opportunities and discuss plans for the year ahead.
This year’s Blue Sky Day is hosted by the Richmond Hill Performing Arts Centre, and takes place on October 7, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 pm.

The day will be divided into two parts:
Session 1
9:30 am to noon - Block Booking Meeting (Presenters only)
Lunch: 12 noon to 1 pm (all members)
Session 2
1 pm to 4 pm - Members’ Forum (all Members) - A facilitated conversation on upcoming challenges and opportunities in the Ontario Presenting Field.
We’ll quickly review the 3 Bold Ideas, generated at the Spring Retreat in Brockville:
- Data Gathering & Analysis to optimize our audience and community engagement practices
- New Narratives and Metrics that communicate compellingly the purpose/value of our work.
- Expanded Professional Development and Mentorship for all staff (FOH, box office, tech, marketing, etc.) utilizing events like the Spring Retreat for other members of staff, ideas such as job exchanges/shadow program, set up as a ‘share ware’ concept. Develop a peer to peer mentorship program.
And then we’ll also examine other challenges and opportunities that you see emerging from your place in the presenting ecology. In particular, we want to examine these ideas from all perspectives in the presenting field – presenters, agents, and artists, even audiences.
Come with your challenges as well as any opportunities you see emerging in the presenting field or that you would like to create for a healthier presenting field in Ontario.
At the end of the day participants will also be invited to a facility tour.
