Theatre Connects is an initiative that seeks to have more theatre and dance performances in Ontario communities and more people engaged, interested and invested in theatre and dance at a local level.
Fully funded by the Ontario Arts Council (OAC), the project aims to increase the range and diversity of theatre available to communities in Ontario outside of the city of Toronto. Through presenter curatorial development, technical pre-tours, and artist fee support, Theatre Connects supports the presentation of a number of theatre and dance pieces, as well as community engagement activities, at participating venues across the province.
The following Ontario Presents members actively participate in the Theatre Connects program:
The Grand Theatre, Kingston
Rose Theatre, Brampton
Flato Markham Theatre
Registry Theatre, Kitchener
FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre, St. Catharines
Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts
